Morier the Dark

Here is a piece for Morier, who was so helpful in getting my art to BloodhoundOmega in time for an art show in Europe! (Many thanks to the both of them!!!)

Morier is his own species, with a tigerlike face, white pupil-less eyes, saber-fangs, horns with a sliver ring on each, a lion's mane with spots, and specific markings on his face. I didn't model him on any specific pictures of big cats; since he's a fantasy creature I worked from my head instead, which may not be accurate or totally realistic, but is more fun for me. Actually, drawing ANY sort of horned and/or fanged cat is fun for me! (Mel/Sekhmet and Hollyann, look out!)

I tried a lot of different little things with his fur, though. Some of it I am happy with, some of it I need tp practice more. I will not ever be good at photo-realistic art art because I just can't get my symbolic/designy brain to work that way (though I love to SEE all kinds of art!!!), but it's fun to try new things. I also learned that if I want to get more detail I'll have to draw larger (this is small)!

I've got more art I'm working hard to finish, so thank you all for your patience! Also, know that I value every piece of art as highly as the next, and I'm trying my best on every piece, be it a sketchbook piece or a full-finished, commissioned piece for a project; I'm only sorry I'm not faster!
