There's been so much gorgeous art for the Wild Cats of the World Card Deck posted already; still, I wanted to hold off on mine until they were available for sale (NOW THEY ARE! Check the link below). So, here is the second of the two cards I did; this is a female melanistic leopard (from India, with a temple-like sculpture piece), to contrast with the more muscular, male tawny leopard (from Africa, with a Masai-type shield). Yes, there's sort of a yin-yang thing going on. There are many wonderful stylized pieces in the deck, and many fantastic realistic ones; mine fall somewhere in between. Drawn with a mechanical pencil on Bristol, then colored in Photoshop. Pencil sketch is in my Scraps gallery.
Please don't expect complete anatomical accuracy in my pieces; the art director encouraged us to draw in our own style and stylize things, so I most certainly did (that's always more fun for me).
Decks available for order HERE: [link]
---until December 18th, 2007; after that, they will be available at Further Confusion at R. Gibson's table.
I may have some decks to sell myself if I attend any art shows in 2008, but I will make an announcement next year about that if I do.

Gorgeous! The colours are soft and they really blend well. I love your style, how you blend traditional pencil with digital colouring, a lot of artists fail at this but you seem to have perfected it, and it's really beautiful I'm curious as to how you get involved with these projects, are they your own or do you get asked to take part in them (such as our anthro calendar). I'd love to get involved in community projects like card decks and such, that's just why I'm asking Keep up the great work
Ah Lea's the body proportion is lovely, you really captured the true angle of movement. Though the angle on the head makes it look like it could be lowered.
Such a proud pose ^___^
Keep up the great work
